Sirena: Nap Queen, Playtime Princess!'s Story
Sirena is a beautiful 4-year-old grey tabby with a sweet, independent personality that’s blossomed since her rescue. She first showed up in her rescuer's backyard one summer, looking more feral than friendly, as she had to fend for herself for some time. Over the course of a few months, Sirena began to trust the humans around her, and one particularly cold, windy night, she begged to come inside. That was the turning point—Sirena was no longer just a stray cat; she became part of the family.

Since then, Sirena has settled into the indoor life, enjoying the safety and comfort of a home. While she’s still learning the ropes of a fully indoor lifestyle, she has become a more affectionate and playful cat, thriving in her new environment. She loves to nap on the bed or couch, basking in the warmth of the indoors, but she’s also quite active during the early mornings and late evenings. Sirena has a playful side, enjoying her catnip mouse and paper bag handles, and when she runs, she does so with the grace of a baseball player sliding into home base.

Though Sirena enjoys the company of humans, she is still cautious around other cats. Having had a rough start outdoors, she finds other cats a little intimidating and would prefer to be the only cat in her forever home. She has shared space with a red-eared slider, and there’s no problem there—she’s a little more at ease with reptiles than other felines. Sirena can be a bit chatty, especially when she’s hungry or anxious, but with some redirection, she’s been making great strides in toning down her signature loud meows into more polite conversations. Her morning wake-up routine is a sweet affair, with gentle whisker nuzzles and head butts to greet her human.

Though Sirena enjoys her quiet moments of solitude, she is also affectionate and loves to curl up with her human, either on the bed or the computer chair. She’s made huge progress in becoming a more trusting and loving companion, and she’s ready to bring that same sweetness into her forever home. Sirena isn’t picky about food—whether kibble or wet food, as long as there’s gravy, she’s happy. She enjoys exploring vertical spaces but is just as content to relax on a cozy bed or couch.

Sirena’s ideal adopter would be someone who enjoys a calm, cozy home and appreciates having a cat who is both independent and affectionate. She’s a great companion for someone who enjoys quiet evenings with their feline friend, and she’s the perfect mix of playful and snuggly. Sirena is spayed and vaccinated, and she’s ready to find her forever family who will cherish her for the sweet, loving cat she’s become.

Sirena is currently located with her rescuer in the Bronx. We are happy to arrange transport upon adoption if needed!

To apply:
https://form.jotform.com/250073732465152
