Simba's Story
Our beautiful boy Simba is looking for his fur-ever home!

Simba was returned to us. He was adopted from us about 7 years ago as a kitten. He was adopted with his brother (their names were Timone and Pumbaa). Sadly Simba was returned but his brother stayed in their home. He now has to navigate a new life without his family and without his brother

The family returned him saying he had an issue with a uti 2 years ago and was urinating out of the box, but after they treated the issue was resolved. But now they have a baby in the home, Simba urinated once out of the box again and they said they couldn’t have him in the home anymore. When we asked if they took him back to the vet to see if he had a uti again and could just treat him again, they said no.

Simba has been back with us for a little while now. We have been closely monitoring for any accidents but he has not had any issues, he is using his litter box great. We had him evaluated with our vets and he had urinary cystitis-a painful bladder condition usually brought on by stress. He has received medications and laser therapy and currently the cystitis is resolved. He joined our other cats in the free roaming cat room to see how he does in there and he continues to be a good boy and using his litter box with no issues.

Simba is now ready to find a foster home or fur-ever home. He is about 8 years old. He is SO sweet. He loves pets and snuggles. He is also adventurous and loves to explore but appreciates a nice comfy spot with a blanket to overlook everything.

Simba is neutered and microchipped, current on age appropriate vaccines. He has a negative fecal test, negative FIV/FeLV test as well. We also did additional organ screening bloodwork with him since he is over 7 years of age and the bloodwork had no concerns.

Let’s see if we can find Simba a place to call his own for the New Year!

The $75.00 adoption fee (
payable by cash or check only
) includes: spay/neuter; vaccinations; senior bloodwork, microchip; fecal testing w/ giardia, flea prevention, and FIV/FeLV testing.

Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Cats for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.
