Simba's Story

Simba is a gentle giant weighing in at his most recent vet appointment at 18.5 pounds. He is 13 years old (estimated birth date 9/27/2013). He is front declawed and recently had senior blood work and a dental which all came back great. He loves to lay right next to his human family member and is a talker when you speak to him or when he wants something and he also purrs quite a bit. He is a big cuddle bug and will enjoy sleeping with you at night if you allow it.

Simba loves to be around his people and will follow you around – sometimes almost tripping you so it’s important to be aware of that. He also needs to be watched when doors open as he may try to dash out and he MUST be an indoor only cat (just like all Reuben’s Room cats) so his new family needs to have a good way to watch doors when they are opened.

He has lived with other cats and a dog before and gets along fine with them as long as they are respectful of him and he also does well with children. When visitors arrive, he most likely will not hide and may get up to greet them if he isn’t busy taking a cat nap. He recently had surgery to remove a growth over his eye that is still healing so he will have a bald spot there for awhile.

Simba is mostly a couch potato but with more weight loss he may want to play more. He is also known on occasion to eat things off the floor that he shouldn’t. Simba is a very good natured, laid back cat. His previous mom says that he will sometimes give you “the nod” like he’s a cool kid just to acknowledge you and that’s super cute!

Ask about this gentle giant today! Adopting a senior cat is so rewarding.
