Simba's Story

Reintroducing SIMBA! This stunning nine year old boy is 99% lover and 1% cranky neighbor who doesn't want any fellow cats playing in his "yard." Simba came to us over a year ago after being rescued from euthanasia. He was overweight, diabetic, matted, had skin and nail infections, diabetic neuropathy, and was in desperate need of a dental. After shaving off some pounds, treating his infections, a dental visit, and some loving attention, Simba has been restored to his former glorious self and is now ready for a long-term foster home as his current foster is relocating to another state.

Simba loves being brushed head to toe, chin rubs, and attention of any kind. He responds by drooling in joy and with a roaring purr. Belly rubs? No problem here - he'll happily present his belly (and everything else) for an extended tummy tickle or a four paw nail trim. Talk about easy - if we didn't know any betterwe'd think he had professional groomer experience. He is adorably wobbly (uncertain of cause but could be residual diabetic neuropathy) so we have added a supplement to his food to try and boost his strength. To date, his weakened back end has gotten no better or worse and does not impede his "zoomies" after a good litter box visit! Another fun fact about wobbly cats? It means Simba is the polar opposite of a counter jumper! As a matter of fact, if he needs to get on anything higher than a couch...pet stairs do the trick. He will want a set by your bed as his favorite place to sleep is with you. Simba has been in diabetic remission for over a year and has not been on any insulin. We hope to keep him that way by controlling his diet and occasional glucose monitoring.

He comes with a lifetime commitment of litter, food, meds, and all the vet care needed for the rest of life. What he needs is a soft, loving place to fall, and a pet parent who will be patient getting him settled into new surroundings. His ideal home would be a quieter one. Maybe with someone who works from home (or no longer works) who has no other pets. He's been waiting a long time for the right home and we are committed to providing everything a new foster needs. All you need to add is love (and twice a day feedings).

Who wants to meet this boy and discuss adding him to your family?

LET'S MEET! Please email s.o.s.representative@gmail.com for an application to be Simba's long-term foster. Simba is available for meet and greets with pre-approved applicants!

ADOPTION INFORMATION: All of our cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriate), Feline Leukemia/FIV tested, de-parasited & micro-chipped before being adopted out. All applicants must meet our adoptable cats in person. We do not ship any of our animals to adopters. Thank you and please contact us with any questions.

9/17/25 2:27 PM
