Silkie, Willow Grove, PA (FCID 09/17/2024 - 155)'s Story

Removed from view per the foster 10/29/2025 as she is not ready for an adopter yet.
Cat-Friendly!! Meet Silkie, an adorable and petite house panther with a very soft coat, hence her name! This lady enjoys being pampered with head scratches and soft, reassuring words. In response, you may hear her purring softly! She does accept body pets, and if you are lucky, let you caress her belly, but as she is still learning to trust, she prefers a slow and gentle approach.
This all-black gal loves to lounge on soft surfaces and appreciates a tall cat tree or perch that allows her to observe the world outside. We are still learning about her toy preferences, but she seems to enjoy peaceful companionship of other felines instead of active playtime. Since she is a bit independent, Silkie may also be great as your only cat.
Sociability:

With People: Silkie would thrive in an adult-only, quiet household where she can feel safe and secure.
With Cats: Silkie enjoys the company of other relaxed kitties who like to snuggle and hang out. She would do well with a feline friend who matches her calm demeanor.
With Dogs and Children: We don’t have any information on how Silkie reacts to dogs.

Silkie is lounging with her foster family. Her foster mom reports, 'I have 2 small dogs and, even though they don't hang out with Silkie, she doesn't seem bothered by them. So I would say she would possibly do well with respectful dogs.'

Please submit our no-obligation application for a meet and greet or to adopt today: Forgotten Cats Adoption Application .
