Silas's Story

Meet Silas

If youre looking for a quiet, loyal companion who will happily spend his days keeping you company, Silas might just be your perfect match.

Silas is a handsome, fluffy black cat with a soft, easy-to-care-for coat and an even softer heart. He was born in the woods and trapped when he was about 12 weeks old, so he can be a little cautious with new people and unfamiliar places. Once he knows youre safe, though, youll discover one of the sweetest, most devoted cats around.

Hes not much of a pick me up and carry me around kind of cat, but he absolutely loves being close to his people. Hell curl up in your lap, nap beside you while you read or watch TV, and happily keep you company while you work. (Hes currently my favorite studio assistant and takes his supervisory role very seriously!)

Silas has the cutest ways of asking for attention. If he thinks youve ignored him for long enough, hell gently swish his fluffy tail across your legor even your faceto remind you hes there. Sometimes hell softly tap your leg with his paw as if to say, Excuse me... Id like some pets now, please. He comes when called and even knows to hop up beside you when you pat the couch or chair.

One of his favorite ways to communicate is with slow blinks, and once hes settled in beside you, hell drift off to sleep purring contentedly.

Silas gets along well with other cats, although hes confident enough that he can occasionally boss around cats who are especially timid. He peacefully coexists with our large senior dogs and young Chihuahua mix. If the dogs get a little rowdy, he simply moves to a quieter spot until things settle down.

Because hes a calm, gentle soul, Silas would likely do best in a quieter home. Respectful older children (tweens and teens) who understand cat body language would be wonderful companions, while a busy household with lots of loud activity would probably be overwhelming for him.

We always like to be transparent about our foster cats individual needs. Silas isnt a special-needs cat, but he does best when his diet includes a probiotic and fiber supplement to keep his tummy happy. His left eye has also been slightly runny ever since the day he was trapped as a kitten. It doesnt slow him down one bitwe simply wipe it with a warm cloth once a day, which takes less than a minute and usually turns into a little petting and brushing session that he thoroughly enjoys.

Silas has been overlooked for several years simply because he's a black cat and isn't a cat that immediately approaches prospective adopters. While other foster cats have found homes, our little prince has patiently waited for someone to see just how special he is.

He deserves a home where he can finally be spoiled, adored, and receive all the attention hes been so patiently waiting for. We know that when the right person meets Silas, theyll wonder how they ever lived without him.

If you're looking for a faithful companion who will quietly fill your home with gentle purrs, slow blinks, and unconditional love, Silas is waiting to meet you.

Rabies Vaccine: Yes
Neutered: Yes
Up-to-date on flea medication: Yes
Location: Milton, FL
Adoption Fee: $100

Our Mission
We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for homeless and abused cats so they can find their forever families. We often take in "misfits" - cats that are not the most social initially, but who have so much love to give once they trust you. We always take the time to get to know each cat's unique person...
