Shrimp's Story
Please note there is no need to complete an adoption questionnaire on this page.

We only need our Adoption Application Questionnaire completed at:
https://www.catfurr.org/adoption-questionnaire/ (please copy/paste link)

December 2025 – I noticed the other week that SHRIMP had horrible breath! That can be a sign of mouth infection & bad teeth/gums. I looked in her mouth & could see she had dental problems. I got her in to Sound Cat for a dental. Luckily they had an opening and she went yesterday.

$1,300 later, most of her teeth had been pulled! She will surely feel better after healing up from the surgery. Poor thing!

SHRIMP’S brother, RED FISH, also had a dental, with most teeth pulled, about a month ago. I guess it’s genetic plus bad nutrition before being rescued.

These dental surgeries are necessary not only because of the infection from broken or bad teeth/gums, but also to relieve pain.

Pictures of RED FISH & SHRIMP. Both siblings still waiting for a home this Christmas!

September 2025 – More great photos of Shrimp (white/calico) and Red Fish (orange tabby)! They’ll be so happy to have a FURR-ever home. Learn more about their amazing story below.

May 19, 2025 RED FISH & SHRIMP have come back & are in Room 3. They are doing really well considering & need LOTS of gentle love. SHRIMP will hiss at everyone, but she is just scared & you can pet & love on her. RED FISH is super sweet but scared. These poor cats have been gone TWO years & now back at FURR. I love them both & will see to it that their future WILL be better!

Shrimp is a tiny but colorful girl who is longing for someone to love her! She came from a rough place early in her life but she has made huge progress and just needs some reassurance and a little love. She is so soft and beautiful and loves to be petted and brushed. She is a gentle girl but still a little shy and ready for the next step in her little life. She gets along great with other non-dominant cats that won't pick on her. If you want a gorgeous, sweet and quiet little kitty to love, this is your girl!

Meet all FURR kitties available for adoption on PetFinder!

For adoption information or to schedule a visit to the Feline Urgent Rescue & Rehab rescue facility to meet this kitty, please email FURR’s President and Founder, Terry Schultz, at adoptafurrcat@gmail.com.

Learn how to adopt this kitty! FURR adopts to the Wilmington/Hampstead NC and surrounding area only and to approved homes.

If you are not ready to adopt a kitty, please consider fostering or sponsoring.
