Sheridan's Story

Come meet me at the Clay PetSmart adoption center!

Sweet Sheridan is a gentle and affectionate girl, who currently tips the scales at 14lbs. She will be 4 years old in January and is the perfect companion for any home. Sheridan is attention seeking and loves to rub on your legs and encourage you to pet her and scratch her back.

She is great with dogs and kids and would prefer a home with other cats since she's always lived with her 3 siblings and other animals. Consider adopting a pair from this great group!

Belinda and her siblings, Arnold, Olympia, and Sheridan, were sadly surrendered by their loving owner when she was no longer able to care for them. All four are incredibly sweet and loving!

Sheridan and Arnold are FIV+, while Belinda and Olympia are not! Our best guess is that their mother had FIV and only two of the kittens contracted it from her. All four kitties are very healthy! FIV affects the immune system, so it's important that cats with the condition stay indoor only and get regular wellness visits to the vet. FIV cats can live normal lifespans and are great cats! So don't be negative about a cat that's FIV positive.

Learn more about FIV from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine here.

Apply on Cat Coalition's website here (say you saw the cat on Petfinder).

Because of her FIV+ status, Sheridan's adoption fee is FREE. Any donation you choose to make will contribute to the cost of veterinary treatments the cat has received, such as spay/neuter, rabies and distemper vaccines, testing, microchipping, deworming medication, and flea and ear mite treatments.

Adoption includes a free lifetime microchip registration!

CNYCC is a New York State Registered Shelter/Rescue, Registration Number: RR099
