Shere Khan's Story

Shere Khan is most appreciative that he does not have to spend yet another winter outdoors. He was trapped in rural Eastern Ontario by a colony caretaker/foster with our sister rescue, For Love of Ferals. He blossomed into an absolute cuddle bug in foster, and there was no way this friendly, handsome dude was going back outside.

Shere Khan is a sweet, affectionate ginger boy with the cheeks to prove he is a full-grown tomcat. He is very gentle, absolutely loves being with people and will happily spend time curled up in your lap; even if he doesn't quite fit, he'll make it work! He loves getting kisses and expresses his gratitude with big purrs. He has a playful side as well, enjoys chasing wands and lightly wrestling with his foster mates. As he prefers gentler play, he would do better with cats/humans that have a similarly laid-back vibe rather than those leaning to the rough and rambunctious. His foster buddy Rhino would be an excellent pairing, as the two coexisted harmoniously since coming into foster care.

This big, handsome and ultra-friendly boy is so happy being with people and other cats, he has settled seamlessly into the plushy life of an indoor pet. He is clean and has excellent litter box habits.

Missing some orange magic in your life? Shere Khan is here to remedy that with head bumps and steady purrs! He will be an excellent addition to any family!

Would you like to make Shere Khan, and maybe Rhino too, a part of your little tribe? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older.
