Shelly's Story

Meet Shelly, a gorgeous medium-to-long haired brown tabby with the softest floofy fur, fuzzy toe tufts, and ear floofs that will only get better with time and a healthy diet.

After surviving a tough summer outdoors battling fleas and fending off male cats, Shelly is ready to leave her rough start behind and settle into the good life she deserves.

Shelly is a playful yet affectionate companion. She adores her automatic toys—especially the spinning one with the “mouse tail”—and enjoys scratching on her posts before curling up in her leafy cat tree for a nap.

At night, she loves to sleep with her person and wake up beside them in the morning. Shelly is also a loyal little shadow, following her foster mom from room to room and even camping out on the bathroom floor during bath time.

She loves watching birds from a sunny window perch, and when she wants your attention, she will give gentle, affectionate love bites as her way of saying, “Don’t forget about me!”

Shelly is very food motivated and would eat all day if allowed. Because of this, we highly recommend keeping her on her feeding schedule, as she truly does not know when to stop.

If you have other cats, she gets along with them and will even snuggle them, but can become a little extra "playful" before mealtimes, which sometimes leads to minor squabbles with her senior foster sister. These squabbles are never serious, and we believe they sound like squabbles because the senior cat has ZERO interest in a quick pre-meal wrasslin session!

As long as your resident cat is cat friendly and can hold its own, we don't see this being a problem at all.

Shelly LOVES being groomed by her foster sister, so she will thrive with a motherly feline friend.

Shelly does well with new people and has even been around toddlers. While children under two make her a bit jumpy, she handles their presence calmly, without aggression, but from across the room. LOL

Overall, she is a curious, affectionate, and social girl who wants to be included in all the goings-on of the household.

Shelly is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested negative for FIV and FELV.

She is ready to find her forever home with a family who will provide her with love, structure around mealtimes, and a cozy window seat where she can keep watch on the world outside.

Catcalls Rescue's Adoption Policy
Please thoroughly read the following information about adopting a Catcalls Rescue cat/kitten before applying. Must be 21+ to apply. Fill out the form thoroughly. The more information you provide, the better! Incomplete forms will not be considered. Please do not apply on a whim! Out of consideration for the time and energy of our volunteers, we ask that you apply only when certain that you are ready and able to adopt. We cannot hold cats/kittens for adoption. Kittens do best when they have a friend! Kittens must be adopted in pairs or to homes with existing pets. All current pets in applicants’ homes must be spayed and neutered and up to date on vaccines. Cats in the home must be FIV/FeLV tested. Safety is a priority at Catcalls Rescue, so a virtual or in-person home check will be completed prior to adoption to make sure your furry friend will be safe and comfortable in their new environment! All Catcalls Rescue cats and kittens come with health records and are dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, FIV/FeLV tested, and microchipped. Please note that due to a high volume of applications, you may not receive a response. We will reach out to applicants that are best suited for each feline within one week of receiving their application. **Emails asking us if we have received apps only slows up the process for everyone. We can't respond to those any faster than we can respond to a good application! Please keep that in mind! If you are the best fit for our kitties, you will absolutely hear from us! Thank you!**
