Shelby's Story
To say that Shelby has had a rough road is putting it lightly. She came to us in April of 2024 after her owner passed away. Instead of being cared for, she was let outside, and that's how she ended up with us. Since then, she's been at the rescue, tried life at PetSmart, and has gone through three foster homes. Not because she was doing anything wrong in any of these places, but because she just needed somewhere calm to really settle in.

What Shelby truly needs now is to land somewhere for GOOD—a quiet, loving home she can finally call her forever. She is a gentle, mellow girl who spends her days soaking up R&R and kneading more biscuits than any baker in Pittsburgh. While she may be a bit timid at first, once she settles in, she blossoms. She will play with wand toys, chirp for attention, and curl-up beside you just to be near.

Shelby hasn't been around other animals much because it stresses her out and she over-grooms herself, so a calm, peaceful home would suit her best. Somewhere she can open up on her own terms and finally feel safe, stable, and loved.
