Shanghai's Story

Shanghai is a very unique, special and beautiful Lynx Point Siamese. We don't have a great estimate on her age but suspect she's around 2-3 as she romps and has a lot of play in her. She is friendly, gentle, and loves to be a part of what's going on in the house.

Shanghai's parents were purebred Siamese and were dumped outside when their owners moved. We suspect Shanghai was not always treated well outside as she does not trust humans immediately. She waits for you to earn her trust. When she understands she is safe and trusts you, she will follow you around the house so she can be around the action. She does not like to be alone.

She likes attention, head scratches and will approach for pets but still lacks the trust to do so often. She loves play time with her foster friend who taught her how to play, and has really gotten into it. She does great with other cats and just wants friends she can play and cuddle with. She would love to have another cat playmate when she goes home. Shanghai would do well with a kitten or younger cat and would be a great companion.

The ideal home for Shanghai would be with older, experienced cat owners, with a quieter home, who can read cat body language. She does not like to be picked up and noises can startle her. Due to her suspected abuse on the street, she can get defensive if she feels scared or threatened and we do not feel she would do well with children. We also do not feel that at this point she would do well with dogs.
