Shale is curious about other cats and has had positive interactions with cats she recognizes through screens or glass. With slow and thoughtful introductions, she could live with a calm and easygoing cat, but she would also do very well as a singleton and enjoy being the center of attention.<br/><br/>Shale has a congenital heart defect that prevents her from safely undergoing surgery, so she is not spayed. She feels good and manages her condition with medication given twice a day. She is extremely easy to medicate and takes her medication very well, making her daily care routine very manageable.<br/><br/>She travels well in a carrier and in the car and does great walking on a leash and harness. She uses scratching posts appropriately, allows nail trims, and is food motivated. She prefers dry food, grazes throughout the day, and uses both a water bowl and a fountain. She enjoys catnip and loves tall vertical scratching posts.<br/><br/>Shale would do best in a calm, loving home with gentle and considerate people.
