Serena's Story

Meet Serena — petite, gentle, and full of quiet love 🤍🧡🖤

Serena is a one-year-old calico girl, under 10 pounds, with a delicate frame and the softest, most thoughtful expression. She has a tender, loving nature that shines once she feels safe.

She can be a little shy when you first meet her — new places make her pause and take everything in. But her shyness is simply sensitivity. Give her patience and kindness, and she blossoms beautifully. Once she knows she’s secure, she becomes deeply affectionate and devoted.

Serena is wonderfully low-maintenance. She’s content lounging nearby, curling up close, and offering soft purrs and gentle head nudges. She doesn’t demand constant attention — she just enjoys being with her person.

And while she’s calm and sweet, she’s still very much a young cat. She absolutely still has kitten energy. She loves toys, enjoys interactive play, and will surprise you with adorable zoomies that remind you she’s still a playful baby at heart. You get the best of both worlds: sweet, easy companionship and little bursts of joyful kitten fun.

She’s the kind of cat who grows into your life naturally — becoming your little shadow, your soft comfort at the end of the day, and your playful spark when you need a smile.

All Serena needs is someone willing to give her that first moment of patience. In return, she’ll give you a heart full of sweetness and years of devoted love

Serena is rescued and under the care of Save a Gato. Any applicant needs to apply through the website of our organization https://www.saveagato.com/available-cats

Although our cats are all located in Puerto Rico, they can fly to mainland US. We can usually find flight angels to bring the cat to you once you are approved for adoption. We don't charge for arranging the trip, the air ticket is $125 on top of adoption fee.

Any potential adopter should fill out an application form (for a specific cat or for general pre-approval). After we review the application, a phone interview will be arranged for the qualified applicants for final approval. After the approval the applicant may choose to visit our facilities or local petsmart/petco stores where our cats are located for adoption and meet the dream cat (if the adopter doesn't already have a particular cat in mind). Finally the adopter will sign the adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, pay refundable spay/neuter deposit (if applicable) and pick up the cat. If the adopter is located in a different location in the US than Puerto Rico, arrangement of delivering the cat will also be discussed. We can usually find flight angels to bring the cat to mainland US. We don't charge for arranging the trip, the cost of pet ticket is about $95-$125 depending the airline.
