Our senior cats for senior laps program matches older cats with seniors in Highland who would love to have a kitty friend without the extra costs or concerns. HCHS provides kitties in need, delivered to your home. Highland County Humane Society (HCHS) includes food, litter, supplies, all veterinary care, etc The cats are vaccinated, neutered, and treated for parasites. All are litter trained and acclimated/socialized to people. HCHS also provides well checks and is available for all concerns/questions. If the foster parent decides to adopt the kitty they have first choice. If not, the kitty can remain a foster for as long as suitable for the foster parent. Highland County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
All of our adoptable animals are pulled from local pounds, strays or owner surrenders. Interested in adoption? Contact us at info@highlandcountyhumanesociety.org for an application to be emailed or mailed to you. Once we've received your application, it's reviewed for approval, once approved, a date and time is arranged to meet the pet. Currently all of our animals are in foster homes. We can meet you or arrange transportation for meeting the adoptable pet or for releasing the pet into your care. Adoption fees include pre-adoption spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming and flea/tick treatment. Currently we are a foster-based program. If you'd like to meet an available adoptable animals, that can easily be arranged.
