Meet Scran — the gentle, foodloving cuddlebug ready to find his home!<br/><br/>Scran is a friendly, gentle, and affectionate adult boy, a winning personality. He loves loves loves his wet food and according to his foster parent enjoys dining in company! A quirky moment of connection as they hang out while he eats his dinner. It says so much about his tender heart and desire for connection. Scran joined us in Troy for Rescue on the Rocks, where he soaked up attention, pets, and admiration from everyone he met. He was a total star... but somehow still went home without an adopter. He's patiently waiting for the right person to see what we see — a loving, gentle, deeply sweet cat who just wants a safe place and a human to adore.<br/><br/>Scran's story began in the most unexpected place: tucked inside a doghouse in our founder's yard, looking for warmth, safety, and maybe a little luck. Despite posting on multiple platforms, no owner ever came forward, and with no identification or microchip, Scran officially became part of our rescue family. Now, this sweet boy, around 4 years old, is ready to find a forever home where he'll never have to wonder where he belongs again.<br/><br/>At his first vet appointment, Scran tested positive for FIV. This shouldn't affect his overall lifespan, but it does mean he'll need to remain an indooronly cat, stay up to date on vaccinations, and avoid raw food diets. Because FIV can be transmitted to other cats, Scran would do best as an only cat or in a home with other FIV+ cats. He does get along well with dogs— a wonderful bonus for adopters with friendly pups. After submitting your cat or dog application, we contact references, and schedule a virtual or in-person home visit. We encourage virtual or in-person meet and greets with your potential new companion.<br/>Once everything is approved, we celebrate as your new furry friend officially becomes part of your family! <br/><br/>Adoption Policies<br/>Out of State adoptions are possible for the right match but dependent on transport capabilities.<br/>At this time our adoptions are limited to applicants who are 18 or older.<br/>Virtual meet & greets are available for applicants without an application*<br/>In-person meet & greets are available for applicants with an application*<br/>We require adopters' pets to be up to date on their rabies vaccine as per NYS law and highly encourage additional vaccinations.<br/>*Depending on foster availability and comfort level.<br/><br/>Adoption Fees<br/>By adopting, you're not just gaining a loving companion—your adoption donation helps us continue our mission to save more pets in need.
