Scran's Story
Meet Scran — the gentle, foodloving cuddlebug who's ready to leave his stray days behind and settle into a home of his own.

Scran's story began in the most unexpected place: tucked inside a doghouse in our CoChair's yard, looking for warmth, safety, and maybe a little luck. Despite posting on multiple platforms, no owner ever came forward, and with no identification or microchip, Scran officially became part of our rescue family. Now, this sweet boy, around 3 years old, is ready to find a forever home where he'll never have to wonder where he belongs again.

Scran is incredibly friendly and affectionate, with a soft, gentle personality that wins people over instantly. He's also very food motivated — especially when it comes to wet food. One of his cutest quirks is that he loves having his foster stand with him while he eats, as if he just wants a little company during mealtime. It's a small thing, but it says so much about his tender heart and desire for connection.

At his first vet appointment, Scran tested positive for FIV. This shouldn't affect his overall lifespan, but it does mean he'll need to remain an indooronly cat, stay up to date on vaccinations, and avoid raw food diets. Because FIV can be transmitted through deep bite wounds, Scran would do best as an only cat or in a home with other FIV+ cats. He does get along well with dogs, though — a wonderful bonus for adopters with friendly pups.

Scran recently joined us in Troy for Rescue on the Rocks, where he soaked up attention, pets, and admiration from everyone he met. He was a total star... but somehow still went home without an adopter. He's patiently waiting for the right person to see what we see — a loving, gentle, deeply sweet cat who just wants a safe place and a human to adore.

We're still learning more about Scran as he settles into foster care, and we'll continue updating his profile as his personality unfolds. But one thing is already clear: this boy is special.

If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will greet you with warmth, enjoy your company at mealtime, and fill your home with quiet sweetness, Scran may be the perfect match.

Check out our Facebook page to see more pictures and videos of our sweet Scran!

Please apply to adopt at www.TTRRescue.com or email TTRRescue@gmail.com with any questions.

NYS dept of agriculture license # 534

Adoption Process
Our adoption process helps match pets with their families. After submitting your cat or dog application, we contact references, and schedule a virtual or in-person home visit. We encourage virtual or in-person meet and greets with your potential new companion.
Once everything is approved, we celebrate as your new furry friend officially becomes part of your family!

Adoption Policies
Out of State adoptions are possible for the right match but dependent on transport capabilities.
At this time our adoptions are limited to applicants who are 18 or older.
Virtual meet & greets are available for applicants without an application*
In-person meet & greets are available for applicants with an application*
We require adopters' pets to be up to date on their rabies vaccine as per NYS law and highly encourage additional vaccinations.
*Depending on foster availability and comfort level.

Adoption Fees
By adopting, you're not just gaining a loving companion—your adoption donation helps us continue our mission to save more pets in need. Nearly 90% of our budget goes to cover vet fees for our foster pets.
Dogs
Puppies (up to 1 year): $300
Adult Dogs (over 1 year) 25 pounds : $150-170
Adult Dogs (over 1 year) 25 pounds : $175-200
Cats
Kittens: $100-120
Double Kittens: $175-200
Adult Cats (over 1 year): $80-100
Double Adult Cats: $120-180

For more information please Contact Us
