Scooter's Story

My name is Scooter. I came to the shelter very scared. I lived here once before several years ago and have always been a little nervous. I prefer to be somewhere up high where I can watch what goes on down below. My caretakers say I have a hot/cold personality and compare me to someone named "Grumpy Cat". I've never lashed out at anyone, but I do hiss when I'm uncomfortable. I love my treats and will always come out for a snack. I have been caught enjoying bird watching and even allow some chin scratches on occasion. I'm not really a lap cat, but I'm looking for a quiet space with a person who can understand my quirks and help me through some tough times. Due to my nervous personality, I need to be the only pet in the home.

Kingston Animal Control/Shelter's Adoption Policy
Adopting an animal may be more involved than you expect. The best interest of the animals in our care is our primary concern. Our goal is for these animals to secure a permanent home. The first step in the process, is completing an adoption application. You can obtain an application 2 ways: in person at the shelter, or you can request an on line application by emailing us at kaco1@comcast.net. Upon submission of the completed application, all information will be verified. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, only those applicants who are approved will be contacted.
