Scarlet - please read bio - special needs -'s Story
Scarlet has been with us since mid March and on quite the epic medical journey. Scarlet arrived with wounds that at the time we thought were injuries or perhaps even burns and slow to heal. The wounds wouldnt heal and it appeared she was causing more by scratching. Fast forward, multiple tests and failed treatment it appears she has a condition called Idiopathic Ulcerative Dermatitis (IUD). Currently Scarlet is on a few different types of medications and weve finally gotten her to a much better place and hope to find a special person to adopt her.

Through it all Scarlet has been a sweet and affectionate cat, shes an incredibly snuggly girl. She also seems to enjoy the company of other cats and had made friends with a male cat that shared a space with her.

Scarlet may always require medication, we will be attempting to lower her dose of medication soon and hope for the best. IUD can go dormant and flare up when there has been a change in health or stress. Scarlet needs to be an indoor only cat to keep her safe and healthy.
