Sassy's Story

Sassy - Female DOB 9/29/2023 Domestic Short Hair - Tortoiseshell

Sassy is a very sweet, affectionate, and talkative tortie. And yes — she does have a little tortitude. Around other cats, she’ll let them know if they get too close to her space with a quick hiss. She’s not looking for trouble, she just prefers her boundaries respected.

“Sassy girl” is still settling into the main room at the rescue and can be a little shy at first. But walk by, reach down to pet her, and she’ll start chatting away. She’ll even sit right up from wherever she’s resting to “tell” you she’d like more attention. Once she’s comfortable, she enjoys chasing feather wand toys and will surprise you with her little bursts of fun. She loves to be picked up and held and she will stand up on you to let you know when she wants it. She will also sit on your lap when you have some time to give to her. Although the vet estimated her to be around two years old, Sassy is small and petite and may be younger — it’s hard to know for sure.

She has very strong feelings about water: specifically that it should come from a faucet. Turn one on and she’ll be right there. And give her a sunny window with a cat tree, and she’ll happily settle in for her daily bird and squirrel watch like she has important neighborhood business to oversee.

Even though she’s still young, Sassy would likely enjoy being your only cat where she can have your attention and carry on her little conversations with someone who is home often. She did spend time in foster with another female kitten, so with a slow introduction, she may be okay with a calm female cat. She has also been around a cat-friendly dog and should be fine with a calm dog who knows when to give her space. No young children would be best for her.

Please apply via our easy online application at https://furrr.org/cat-adoption-process/All kitten(s) and cat(s) at FuRRR Feline Rescue are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations for their age, combo tested for FIV/FeLV, microchipped and have a Health Certificate from a licensed NH veterinarian.
