Sassafras

Meet Sassafras, a tender survivor of a tragic mobile home fire. She was able to be rescued along with two other feline companions. She was pregnant at the time, requiring emergency surgery because when she was delivering her kitten her female organs also followed. Fortunately, she was able to be saved. To say she has experienced trauma is an understatement and Sassafras so made her way to Second Chance.<br/><br/>Sassafras is a pretty brown tabby with soulful green eyes. She is adjusting to her new temporary home and is a little cautious. She appreciates pets but wants you to initiate slowly and gently. Sassafras continues to build her courage everyday. We believe given a little time and encouragement Sassafras will be a confident, loving companion. She needs an adopter willing to give her some time and love so her true self can shine. She is getting braver everyday.<br/><br/>Sassafras can coexist with other friendly, non-domineering cats. She has been found to snuggle with other shier kitties finding comfort with them. Sassafras at this time would do best with a single adopter or couple, possibly a family with older respectful kids.<br/><br/>Sassafras has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Sassafras has an approximate birthdate of 03/16/2023.
