Sarah's Story

I’m Sarah, a 3-year-old girl who’s been waiting for my forever family since I arrived at the shelter almost 2 years ago. It’s hard not to wonder when it will finally be my turn.
I’m not the kind of cat who will win everyone over the moment they meet me, and that’s okay. I need someone who understands that I deserve to be loved for who I am—not for who they hope I’ll become.
I thrive with people who have experience with shy, unsocialized, or more challenging cats. I need patience, understanding, and the freedom to move at my own pace. Trust is something I build slowly, but when you let me be myself, you’ll know every little step forward is a victory we’ve earned together.
I do enjoy the company of other cats, so a feline friend could be a wonderful fit for me. Dogs and children, though, aren’t part of my happily-ever-after. A calm, quiet home is where I’ll have the best chance to blossom.
My adoption fee is fully sponsored because everyone here believes I deserve a chance. What I need now is someone who sees past my cautious exterior and believes that every cat—even one who’s been overlooked for almost two years—is worthy of love, patience, and a forever home.
Maybe the reason I’ve waited this long is because I’ve been waiting for you.
If you are interested in adopting, applications can be found on our website www.ahimsahaven.org.

Meet and greets are with an approved application by appointment only.

As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.
