Sandy's Story

Sandy was part of a large group of outdoor cats in Burlington that came into foster with her siblings and mom. She can take a little bit to warm up to new environments but she has learned that the indoor life far surpasses the outdoor life! She has not been around dogs (except for through the adoption space window here) or children under 10y. With slow introductions we have seen her adopted siblings adjust to life with both. We have confidence that she could as well. Her foster mom gives her canned food every day which is a great way to help build a relationship. Sandy's foster is the first human who has shown her what it means to be loved by a person. She has discovered the joy of ear scratches and belly rubs. She loves to observe her environment and surroundings and obviously eat, play, and sleep. In her foster home, she likes to flip backwards out of her arms when she is done with wanting to be held. Sandy and her sister love each other but are not bonded so we are not requiring them to be adopted together. To apply for adoption, scan the QR code or go to; tinyurl.com/AELAdoptionSquadOur adoption process is simple, relationship-centered, and provides supportive education. You can expect your adoption interest to go like this:
1. Submit your electronic form
2. An AEL representative will contact you to schedule a phone call or adoption counsel session.
3. Come to your adoption counsel session to meet the pet you're interested in and ready to take them home with you (dependent on the pet, some need more than one meet)
4. If the pet is determined to be a good fit with your family by both you and the AEL representative, you will sign your contract, submit your adoption payment, and take your new friend home!

Let us know you're interested here: http://tinyurl.com/AELadoptionsquad
