Sammy is a handsome 13-year-old orange-and-white Maine Coon mix who first entered Kitty Devore Rescue as a kitten and was adopted in February 2014. After more than twelve years in the only home he had known, Sammy returned to KD foster care and began an entirely new chapter of his life. <br/><br/>Despite such a major change, he surprised everyone by adjusting with remarkable ease and resilience. He is in excellent health for his age, with recent bloodwork within normal limits and only slight arthritis in one hip. He remains active, mobile, and looks and acts much younger than his years.<br/><br/>Sammy is an intelligent, confident, affectionate gentleman who knows what he likes and isn’t shy about politely asking for it. His favorite things include tube treats, cheek scratches, naps, and watching the world go by through the window. He seeks out his foster mom when he wants food or affection and is wonderfully cooperative about being picked up for nail trims and brushing. He has impeccable litter box habits, keeps himself tidy, and respects the furniture. <br/><br/>After spending most of his life as an only cat, Sammy now shares his foster home with cats and a dog. He tolerates his foster siblings well and generally prefers to mind his own business, although he appreciates having his personal space respected.
