Sammy

Oh, Sammy... how did you end up here, sweet boy?

Meet Sammy, an 11-year-old handsome gentleman with the most beautiful eyes and a heart that deserves to be cherished. Sadly, Sammy’s guardian could no longer care for him, and through no fault of his own, this sweet boy has found himself in a shelter, wondering where his home went.

At 11 years old, Sammy should be spending his days curled up in a cozy bed, watching the world go by from a sunny window, and enjoying the comfort of familiar faces and gentle hands. Instead, he is facing a new chapter he never asked for.

Sammy is a gorgeous long-haired tabby, and we are discovering that he really enjoys the company of other friendly felines. Perhaps having a kitty friend to share his days with would help make his next chapter a little brighter.
When Sammy came to us, we were told he had been experiencing litterbox issues. His former family wondered if anxiety may have played a role after the arrival of a human baby. Changes in a household can be difficult for some cats, and we want to give Sammy the understanding, patience, and support he needs to feel secure. He deserves someone willing to see beyond a challenge and recognize the wonderful senior cat waiting to be loved.

Sammy is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. Now, what he really needs is someone to look into those beautiful eyes and see a cat who still has so much love and life left to share.

Please don't let Sammy's age mean he gets overlooked. Senior cats have so much to offer. They deserve warm laps, soft blankets, gentle affection, and a place where they can finally exhale and know they are home. Sammy has already experienced the heartbreak of losing the home he knew. We desperately want his next chapter to be filled with security, kindness, and love that lasts.

Could you be Sammy's hero? Could you be the person who gives this sweet boy a soft place to land and shows him that even when life changes, there is still so much love waiting for him?

For more information and instructions on how to apply, please visit https://thepetrefuge.org/adopt/ Completing an adoption application is always the first step. Shelter visits are by appointment only and available to applicants whose applications have been approved.
We also invite you to follow us on social media: Facebook at Pet Refuge, TikTok @petrefugenk and Instagram @petrefugeri
