Sammy Bonded with Archie's Story

Sammy is "special needs" as he needs a seasoned human, who is willing to patiently work with him to bring him out of his shell. He really doesn't know if he can trust humans, because he was abandoned out in the cold, cruel world, and he was being beaten up by other strays. We don't know anything else about his history.

A good Samaritan saw what was happening to him, phoned us requesting we take him in, and we said, "Bring him!" Sammy was quite shy for the first few weeks at the Sanctuary. When he was ready, we opened his condo door so he could come out and join the others. However, he stayed in the open crate for days! Eventually, his curiosity got the better of him, and Sammy ventured out into the "kitten room," where he allowed us to approach and pet him. He's a very quiet, sweet boy. As for children, he'd be much more comfortable with a very gentle, older child. He seeks comfort with several of our other cats, especially Archie, who makes up in love-seeking what Sammy currently lacks.

To schedule a visit to our Sanctuary, If interested in meeting our cats, please fill out an application by please fill out an application by clicking on MORE ABOUT US (below), then click on ADOPTION APPLICATION.
