Sammy's Story
Sammy is a 2.2-year-old domestic short hair. She was originally found eating trash from a dumpster in Jersey City and was transferred to us from a rescue partner. Sammy is sweet and is friendly to everyone. She was in a foster before she came to our shelter and was around other cats and had some exposure to dogs in the home. Sammy does have FIV, but don't let that discourage you. Cats with FIV can live long, happy, healthy lives with routine veterinary visits. FIV is only spread through deep bite wounds, so many FIV-positive cats can safely live with other friendly, non-aggressive cats. Sammy is FLV negative and is also microchipped.
