Sammy's Story

UPDATE--This wonderful boy is in his new "forever" home and will be there for the rest of his life! He will have a great time with his new family, people, cats and dogs! Sammy is a super sweet young man who needs a very special home. His approximate date of birth is mid June 2010. When he was found, he had problems with luxating patellas (knee caps slipping out of place) in both back legs. A surgery was done to try to correct the problem. It did not completely correct it but it has helped tremendously. His back legs are weaker than most kitties but he compensates well. He loves to use his front legs to hold onto things, to help pull himself up onto things, etc. He is able to jump up to a chair or ottoman with ease. He occasionally walks a little bow-legged but the vet assures us that he is not in pain. He is on the shy side, hiding when anyone or anything new comes up, but he recovers pretty quickly and comes right back out. He does best with older children who are able to understand to be gentle with him. He would adjust, with time and patience, to a gentle dog. He does well with other cats and is quite playful. He can rough and tumble with the best of them, but he does bow out if it gets too wild. His coat is so soft...you just can't help running your fingers through it! He loves to cuddle and have his chin scratched. If you do it just right, he drools...just a little! Such a goofy boy! Don't you need a Sammy in your life?
