Sammy's Story

True to the orange tabby stereotype, this beautiful boy has an exceptionally gentle nature - but only with humans. You see, prior to Sammy’s recent lodgings, he had a rough home life which he shared with multiple other cats. His behavior toward them was not known before he was placed in what was to be a forever home with a senior cat for feline companionship.

Unfortunately, and despite a very long and patient acclimation period by his adopters, Sammy’s aggressive behavior toward the resident feline persists, and the two must be separated at all times. We attribute his behavior to having to hold his own and fight others for the limited amounts of food and attention being distributed in his original home.

Without another animal in his space, Sammy’s playful and chill personality shines through. He loves chasing a laser dot, doing zoomies on the stairs, or just gazing out the window on the world outside. He has the sweetest meow and can stealthily sneak up on you despite his size. He prefers to be near his people all the time. Though not a lap he loves laying against you, as close as he can. How else will you fall for his freckled nose?

After a lifetime of chaos, quietude is what Sammy seeks most, shared with doting adult humans who understand him. He is neutered, current on vaccines, and neg/neg for FIV/FeLV.

Our primary focus is on TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return), but the kittens and friendly strays found during the trapping efforts cannot be ignored. They are brought indoors, well-cared for in a non-shelter environment, and promoted for adoption upon a clean bill of health. We are committed to minimizing the homelessness of beautif...
