Sammy's Story

Sammy is a lovely super senior boy looking for his retirement home. He loves his naps and cuddles and is quickly comfortable with other cats. He is not dog tested but with proper introductions and a calm dog we think he would be okay.

His family moved to non pet friendly housing and at 20 years old he found himself needing a new place to live. We were able to find him a great foster home but know he would love to find her forever home for his remaining years.

Sammy has high blood pressure which is controlled with medication. He is stage 3 kidney disease and receives wet food, and also fluids 1-2 times weekly. These are both common medical conditions for super senior kitties. Sammy also receives pain medication for arthritis and dental disease. Given his age and high blood pressure he is not a candidate for a dental surgery, so he receives pain medication and antibiotic treatment to help his mouth stay comfy.

From his foster home “ He is really attentive to the baby. He comes and checks on her when she cries and wants to lay by her. He also does his walk around the apartment every few hours to make sure everything is in order! He has enjoyed his heated bed a lot and loves to cuddle and play.

He loves pets, being picked up and snuggles. But spends the majority of the time on his heated bed.

I think he may be a little bit deaf, it takes a few "Sammy"'s to get his attention and sometimes I startle him if I walk in.”

Sammy would be a wonderful addition to a family!
