Sammie's Story

Sammie is a super friendly, playful, affectionate, people-cat. It only took her one day of sniffing around and exploring my place and lounging under the couch before she came out with tons of confidence, purrs, and playfulness. Our normal routine is that she gets up at our usual time, meows a few times near the bed, (and if it's the weekend and I ignore her, she stops. She is patient for such a young cat and very quiet during the night). Her two favorite toys will have been dragged near the bed early in the morning. She likes a mouse wand toy and a random piece of string. We play for about 15 minutes and then she may eat. She prefers pate and her favorite is Fancy Feast Seafood Feast. She's a slow eater and it sometimes takes hours for her to pick at her food bite by bite.

A little more play time before work and then when I come home, she'll come out purring and happy to see me, and we play some more with her toys. She enjoys chasing toys in short bursts, pretty often during the day so I move the wand around for her frequently. She will need play to be happy. She is not into any treats I've tried and isn't very food motivated. She isn't scared of loud sounds; thunder or loud machines didn't bother her, but every now and then she'll hear a sound she doesn't like and growls at it. She's not a fan of car rides; she nervous-pooped in the carrier when I brought her home, but even though we had just met, she was very docile when I was cleaning her off in the bathroom, and let me give her a sponge bath without any struggle. She's not interested in my plants--doesn't bother them or chew on them.

After you come home from being away, she wants to be close to you so will sidle up to you on the couch, pressing her little warm soft body against you or jump into your lap or attempt to share your chair. Sometimes she'll sit up high near the window and look out to watch birds. When you take a bath, she'll be on the bath mat hanging out with you and purring. When you sleep, she will sleep on the edge of the bed, close by, or between your feet, and it's so nice to have her calm energy there. Sammie is an excellent companion, warm and soft and sweet and loving.
