Sammie's Story
Sammie Boy (aka Sam, Sammich, Samson) is a super-sized,quirky and special 4½-year-old neutered male with a big personality, a soft silver tabby coat and a heart full of affection. He's not fat, he's just a big guy with a sturdy, solid body.

This friendly gentleman enjoys pets and attention and makes friends quickly. He is a very large and active cat that will require a home where he has plenty of room to roam and people to interact/play with. He would absolutely do best in a home where he is the only 4-legged family member.

In his own home, he is also a snuggler. He loves to be held and is thoroughly happy to curl up in a welcoming lap, purring away. Although Sammie is an indoor cat, he absolutely loves a little safe outdoor time. He would be thrilled to have a catio or enclosed porch where he could breathe some fresh air and soak in the sights and sounds of outdoors. He’s harness trained and enjoys calm strolls, but loud noises startle and scare him. He would not do well in a home with small children. Dogs are also a major no-no.

Sammie has a very expressive face and a lot of purrsonality. His crumpled ear is the result of a dog attack when he was a kitten. We think it just adds to his charm.

Insofar as quirks, they are amusing rather than alarming. He adores people food, especially crunchy things like popcorn and pretzels. He also has a sweet tooth. While this means you need to make sure anything with chocolate is safely stashed in a locked cabinet and be willing to tell him no on people snacks that aren't good for him, it is not a big deal.

He can give light love bites, but they are not mean and don't break the skin. It's more his way of getting attention or communicating that he is done being petted or wants to be left alone.

Sammie is also fascinated by the laundry room and always want to know what is on the other side of any closed doors such as closets or rooms. He does not door dash to get outside though. He is just curious and wants to know everything. Funny guy.

He is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped, ready to settle into his forever home. If you’re looking for an active, amusing and affectionate companion, Sammie might just be your perfect match.

He desperately needs to get out of the communal atmosphere of Catmandu and into a home where he is the one and only pet. He is getting progressively more miserable, the longer he is here. He hates dogs and is not a fan of other cats trying to share his territory. In a home of his own, he would be an absolutely amazing cat.

If you would like to meet this special furball, please fill out the Online Pre-Adoption Questionnaire on our website, https://www.catmanducc.org/copy-of-adoption. Then come by Catmandu Friday through Sunday for a meet and greet and to talk with an adoption specialist. Adoption hours are 11 am to 4 pm. Plan to arrive no later than 3 pm so you have time to spend with the cats before adoptions close at 4. Please bring a carrier in case you find your purrfect friend.
Renters must bring a copy of their lease showing they are allowed to have a cat.
For more information on Catmandu, see bio.link/momcat.
