Sammie's Story
Sammie was majoring in physical education at Messiah University when some children riding bicycles on the campus noticed him pop out of a bush. Intrigued, Sammie introduced himself with tiny meows and followed the children to their home, forgetting he had homework and a paper to write. He was transported to his foster mom shortly thereafter. Perhaps one day Sammie will finish his degree online, but first he needs to find a forever home with a reliable internet connection, some feline (and/or canine) friends and lots of love.

Although he’s no longer attending classes at Messiah, Sammie continues his physical education with kittenlike energy and enthusiasm — running around, jumping on the cat tree, playing with cat and dog toys, and chasing the canines and other felines in his foster home. Sammie loves to play, especially with toy springs made for cats.

He would do best in a home with a cat about his own age. Although he can entertain himself and might be OK as an only cat if his people spent a lot of time with him, he is used to many canine and feline playmates and enjoys his busy foster home.

Sammie prefers to drink from the fountain bowl rather than a water bowl. Although he knows he has a great life inside a house and outside academia, his curiosity compels his interest in the outdoors; his future family must be diligent and alert around open entrances.

Sammie is smart, playful and craves human contact. When he wakes up, Sammie rolls over and starts purring as soon as his foster mom says his name.

Sammie is ready to graduate from a foster home to a forever home. Born in mid-to-late March 2025 (estimate), he is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and tested negative for FIV/FeLV and will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Questions?
