But then add in the fact that he will likely shy away from your hand, for several months, and many people are just not interested in the commitment of patience that he requires. He feels so much safer when he can see his brother relaxed and calm. But even then, he still needs to learn for himself that his space and body language will be respected and that he can set the pace for building a human friendship.<br/>I can now confidently confirm that Dean DOES enjoy chin scratches, head rubs, and pets. He has always been such a sucker for toys, treats and wet food, that it has been easy to pet him during those moments. Because he will tolerate the touches in order to get the prize But now he is also accepting physical affection while lounging around the home, and this is HUGE! He really does just need time and respect.
