Salt's Story

Salt is a 7-month-old neutered male who was trapped in Kent after being lovingly cared for outdoors by a kind Samaritan. It didn’t take long to realize he was never meant for life outside, this boy is pure sweetness.

Salt is fully vetted, vaccinated, and FIV/FeLV negative.

He is an absolute lovebug with a BIG personality. Salt loves people and thrives on affection. He’ll rub against your legs the second you walk in the room, follow you around like your little assistant, and will happily sleep with you at night.

He is also… a food maniac. We’re talking will-steal-it-out-of-your-hand level commitment. Meals, snacks, crumbs, your dinner if you’re not paying attention, it’s all fair game in Salt’s world.

Salt currently lives with both cats and dogs. He may start off a little spicy (some hissing), but he settles in and has learned to coexist just fine. That said, he’s much more interested in people (and food) than making best friends with other animals.

He would likely do well with respectful children and in a home that appreciates a social, slightly chaotic, very lovable cat.

Salt is the kind of cat who will greet you at the door, keep you company through everything, and make sure your life is never boring (or snack-less) again. If you’re looking for a clingy, hilarious, food-obsessed best friend, Salt is your guy.

Despurate House Cats's Adoption Policy
The application process for adopting from our cat rescue includes several important steps: Application Form on Website: You must fill out an application form available on the rescue's website. This form will ask for your personal details, your home environment, and other relevant information about your lifestyle and preferences to help match you with a suitable cat. Vet Reference: You are required to provide a reference from your veterinarian. This helps the rescue ensure you have a history of responsible pet ownership and good veterinary care for your previous or current pets. Landlord Reference (if leasing): If you rent your home, you will need to provide a reference from your landlord. This confirms that you have permission to have a cat in your rental property and ensures that the living conditions are suitable for adopting a pet. Home Visit: As part of the adoption process, a home visit will be conducted. A representative from the rescue will visit your home to ensure it’s a safe and appropriate environment for a cat. This visit will also include meeting your current pets to assess if they will get along with the new cat. The rescue wants to ensure that the new addition to your family will be compatible with your existing pets and that everyone will feel comfortable and safe. Once all these steps are completed and reviewed, the rescue will make a decision about your application.
