Salem - polydactyl's Story

Big Mitten Alert! Salem, our polydactyl queen, is officially on the lookout for her forever home—and she’s not shy about showing off those fabulous extra toes!

Salem’s journey hasn’t been the smoothest. She and her buddy Nala (stay tuned for her intro!) were temporarily taken in by one of our fosters while their original family navigated a housing transition. It was supposed to be a one-month stay... but one month turned into six. During that time, our foster gently asked if they wanted to consider adoption, but the answer was always no. Then came the big moment: the family secured housing and Salem and Nala went home. Cue the confetti, right?

Not quite. Just one week later—after six months apart—the family reached back out to surrender them to Fur Angels. No adjustment period. Just a heartbreaking goodbye.

But Salem? She’s handled it all with grace. Estimated to be around a year old, she’s a gentle soul with a soft spot for cozy corners and quiet affection. She’s not a fan of chaos, so we’re asking for no kiddos under 8 in her future home. What she is a fan of? Showing off those glorious mittens every chance she gets. And honestly, we’re obsessed.

If you’re ready to give this resilient, toe-tastic girl the love she truly deserves, Salem’s waiting—with paws wide open.

Adoption fee: $125

We ask that you fill out our adoption application to start. We ask people to be approved for adoption before meeting our animals because we would hate for someone to fall in love and things not work out.
www.furangelsrs.com/
Our cat adoption application and requirements are under ready-to-adopt then cat.
