Salem's Story

**A generous donor has paid $100 toward Salem's adoption fee!**
Meet Salem! He also goes by "Prince of Darkness."

He was around children in his previous home and was friendly and playful. He did live with other cats and dogs and got along with some and not so much with others. All introductions should be slow and proper when bringing home new animals. Ask staff for tips! He might be happiest as an only pet in his next home.

Salem has had litter box concerns in the past, and it is important his new home sets him up for success with proper litter box care and setup. Ask a staff member for tips!

He spent some time in foster care, and his foster home described him as chatty and treat motivated. In the home, he coexisted with large dogs, and another resident cat. He used his litter box perfectly in the foster home, so we are confident he will continue appropriate box use in the right setting. He loves ball toys but doesn't care for being held much.

Salem enjoys catnip, being brushed, sitting near a window or being near his people! He loves to snuggle and is used to sleeping with his owner at night. He can also be independent and can keep himself occupied as well. He also LOVES anything fish flavored.

If you think Salem might fit well into your home, please stop in and meet him today!

*Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee.

**Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals.
