Saffron's Story
Meet Saffron! This handsome kitty came to Good Mews from a local county animal control for a better chance at finding his perfect home. Saffron is a sweet cat who enjoys love and affection—but on his own terms. He can sometimes get overstimulated and may give a little nibble to let you know when he’s had enough, so he’d do best with an experienced pet owner who understands cat body language. Because of this, we recommend a home without young children.

Adjusting to the shelter has been challenging for Saffron, as he finds the presence of many other cats overwhelming. However, he has been chirping at the younger male cats as a sign that he wants to play. While some of the older cats aren’t interested, he’s found a few friends who enjoy chasing and being chased—like Inky, Buddy, Squeakers, and Cinda. He particularly seems interested in making friends with other male cats, especially those with a slightly submissive personality. Because of his selective nature, he may do best as an only cat or with a calm feline companion, given a slow and patient introduction.

Saffron is FIV+ but don’t let that scare you! FIV+ cats can live safely with non-FIV+ cats as long as the kitties get along. They can also live long, healthy lives like any other cat. Our FIV+ cats are not separated from the other cats in the shelter.
