Sadie's Story
Name: Sadie
Breed: Domestic Medium Hair
Sex: Spayed Female
Age: 7 months
Weight: 6 lbs
Animal Number: 4333

Sweet, Gentle, Curious, Chill, Blind Kitty

Good with dogs? Sadie was nervous about trying to meet a dog since she could not see it. She will likely do best in a home without a dog or any other unpredictable, rowdy animals.

Good with cats? Not Tested. She may be very happy as your only, precious pet. She may be OK, following slow introductions, to a very sweet, gentle cat friend. She cannot see any surprises coming, and cannot see escape routes, so it is important that she never feel cornered or threatened.

Good with kids? Not Tested, but she could be fine with older kids who can move gently, slowly and quietly around her and respect her boundaries so that she feels safe.

Energy level: Medium-Low. Sadie likes to play and can find her own toys, especially catnip toys that smell good, toys that make small sounds like little balls with bells in them or crinkle puffs, and soft feather wand toys. She likes to explore and nap. She would love to nap in the warm sun!

Animal Characteristics: Sadie is a sweet, gentle, curious, chill young kitty. She is special and miraculous since she is blind, yet finds her way around and plays happily, following a proper and patient introduction to her peaceful new space. Both of Sadies’ eyes had to be removed after she was found with a serious infection, but she needs no further medical treatment and is a healthy, thriving girl! She loves to be brushed, pet and played with. She likes to take a little time to sniff and get to know you before head bunting for pets and laying down next to you for a nap. She adapts well to a new environment as long as she feels safe and not threatened by animals or anything else that feels alarming or unsafe. Sadie loves touch but feels unsure if she is picked up or placed in a new location. She needs a caring adopter who can research best care techniques for a blind cat. For example, textured mats help her locate her food, water and litter box. A smaller home with furnishings and objects that stay in the same place will feel cozy and safe for this amazing little girl!

Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process.
