Rye's Story

Rye is a medium hair black female kitten. She is approximately 3-4 months old. She was found with her feral mom and brother under an abandoned house.

Rye was rescued at about 8 weeks old so is still a bit timid. Rye does not show any signs of aggression, but is shy around people she does not know. Her foster mom said that she has improved greatly and now comes when called and will sit on the couch next to her.

Rye is still shy when it comes to petting, but even that is improving. Rye is bonded with her brother Whiskey who was rescued first and is not timid. They are a bonded pair so would need to be adopted together.

Rye is very playful and curious. She loves interactive toys like feathers on a wand. Rye constantly runs and plays with her brother. Rye’s foster mom has extensive experience with timid kittens and says that timid kittens are eventually comfortable and very likely to bond with their owner and become the owner’s biggest fan.

Rye is clean and litter box trained. She is spayed, vaccinated, flea treated and de-wormed and tested negative for feline leukemias/FIV.

Rye is good with other cats, but will need older cat savvy, respectful kids in any family she goes to as she is a little more shy than her brother. She could also be easily introduced to dogs.

Please consider Rye and her brother Whiskey. There is only one adoption fee for the two as we want to keep them together.

If you would like an adoption application or more information on Whiskey and Rye, please email us at bandocats@gmail.com
