Rusty (Courtesy)'s Story
Our rescue is based out of Pikesville, Maryland!

We typically do not adopt more than 45 minutes away from Pikesville, so please bear that in mind before you apply/get too attached.

Rusty is a stray who's made himself at home as an indoor-outdoor cat in the home of a wheelchair-bound senior citizen. He needs a new home because she cannot guarantee how long she'll be able to care for him.

This gentle boy is a wonderful mix of independence and affection. He gets along beautifully with other cats, both indoors and outdoors, and while we don't know how he feels about dogs, his calm nature suggests he could adapt with the right introductions. He may also do well with children, though that hasn't been tested yet.

He's food-oriented and always heads straight for the kitchen when he comes inside, but he's polite about it-if he's tempted by another cat's bowl, a gentle reminder is all it takes for him to stop. He's already shown that he knows how to use the litter box, even popping in once just to take care of business before heading back outside.

When he's not exploring, he loves to be near his people. He'll rub against you, keep you company at your desk, or claim the softest chair in the house for a nap. He's affectionate without being clingy, independent without being aloof, and gentle in all his interactions.

This handsome boy appears neutered but that should be confirmed with a veterinarian. We do not have any documented vetting for him yet, but should you be interested in adopting him, we can assist.

Please note: this is a courtesy listing for a cat not in our adoption program. If you're interested, please contact margtie@comcast.net

Needs Must Cats will have received full vetting including spay or neuter, FIV/FLV testing, microchip, and treatment for parasites by time of adoption. The adoption fee in the amount below helps us assist more cats and kittens in urgent need. These fees do not even begin to cover our expenses so please consider making an additional donate to support our life-saving efforts!

Special Needs or Barn Cat - Donation

Adult Cat - $90

Kitten under 6 months - $150

Pair of Kittens - $275

Please feel free to contact us by email with any questions, or submit your application here: http://www.needsmust.org/adopt
