Rusty's Story

Meet Rusty – A True Survivor! Rusty came into our care after his owner could no longer provide for him during his battle with FIP, a devastating illness that required costly treatment to save his life. Against all odds, Rusty survived. He is cured, healthy, and has been ready for his forever home for two years now. But survival came with scars. Rusty lives with mild neurological effects from his illness—a slight head tilt when he walks, and on occasion, he misses the litterbox for number two. It's a small imperfection in an otherwise extraordinary cat.

What Rusty lacks in “perfection,” he more than makes up for in love. He is gentle, affectionate, and endlessly grateful for every moment of care. Rusty doesn't know he's different, but we fear no one will want him because of his special needs. But we are hopeful that the right person will see what we see: a cat who has fought for his life, who has so much love to give, and who deserves a family willing to embrace him exactly as he is. Whoever adopts Rusty won't just be giving him a home—they'll be gaining a loyal, loving companion and the privilege of sharing life with a true survivor. Come meet Rusty in our Harpers Ferry foster room. Prove him wrong. Show him that there is someone out there who will give him a home again despite his flaws!

All cats adopted through To The ResQ have been examined by a vet, are spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped with free transfer registration, combo-tested, and dewormed.

If you have any questions about Rusty, please contact us at ttr.adopt@gmail.com.
