Meet Rusty

***IN FOSTER***

Rusty's got his eye on you!

Rusty is a sweet and amazing cat who's looking for a fur-ever home! After a series of unfortunate events (a life on the streets and a couple rehomings due to no fault of his own), this remarkably resilient boy dreams of finally settling down to enjoy his golden years with a loving family or that special someone.

As an older gentleman, Rusty prefers to spend most of his time sitting back and enjoying the views from his window. But don't take his laid-back nature to mean that he's antisocial—Rusty absolutely loves people and he cannot get enough pets (head and chin scratches make him melt!). He'll even greet you with some head butts and then plop himself down on your lap for some snuggles! Rusty loves to stay near people, and will follow his foster family members around the house... Even if they turn him into a festive kitty every once and awhile (whether it be wearing bat wings for Halloween or a Santa hat for Christmas)! No matter the occasion, Rusty's a sweetheart.

Due to Rusty's turbulent past, we're unsure whether he'd be as loving to cats or other animals as he is to people. He's patient with children, as long as they try their best to understand his body language. Friendly and gentle, Rusty is the perfect cat for anyone who appreciates living life in the slow lane.

Rusty has FIV, which is a virus that weakens the immune system of a cat. It is not transmissible to humans or other species. Cats who have FIV can live just as long as other cats if they are properly cared for with a good diet, indoor home, loving family, and vet checkups twice a year. He also has osteoarthritis, which is managed through monthly injections.
