Rummy's Story

Rummy is a big lovable kitty that likes to be carried on his back like a baby and he leans in for hugs. He is truly special. He came here as a older feral kitten who learned quickly that living with people is much nicer than running the streets scavanging for food. He had a eye infection when he arrived which was treated, but sometimes, one of his eyes will get watery. He has been neutered and tested negative for fe-leuk and fiv. He has been kept current on all routine vet care including vaccines and parasite preventative meds. A couple years ago he started straining in his litter box. He was passing small amounts of urine and never plugged completly. His urine was blood tinged and he was immediatly started on antibitotics and prescription urinary tract health diet. He recovered quickly and has not had any urinary problems since. His only special need would be that he would need to be kept on his prescription c/d diet by Science Diet. However, many vets now believe that dry food causes many urinary problems in cats because of the lack of moisture and that many cats will do fine if switched to a good quality can food diet. The ones higher in protein and lower in carbs are best.

Rummy gets along well with other cats and dogs. I hope to get some pictures posted soon. Please e-mail with any questions. I will have to mail applications through the post office at this time since I'm having problems with the app document on my compter, so please include your snail mailing address if you would like an application. His adoption fee is 75.00. A vet reference is required and possibly a home vist to make sure that he is a good fit for his new family and to ensure his best interests.
