Ruffles's Story
Ruffles is a brave little man who lives for the attention of others.
Ruffles was first seen outdoors, trying to play with an indoor cat through a window screen. We invited him inside, and ever since then he has spent his waking hours (and a large chunk of his non-waking hours) basically riding atop another cat. He wrestles throughout the day until crashing down into sleep with his current victim(s). While we can assume Ruffles is capable of differentiating humans from felines, this isn’t outwardly obvious because his behavior doesn’t vary between the two. He’ll hop on your chest, wrestle with your hand, and splay across your neck in a rumbling snore. Wherever he winds up, playful roommates will be important.
But what kind of roommates? As the bravest little dude to rock the Earth, Ruffles is prepared to stand up to a hurricane, let alone another cat or dog. He’s accustomed to rodeo antics with cats twice his size–he doesn’t care how big they are. Anyone who looks at him the wrong way finds out why his name isn’t Softles. The only thing too much for this man is the prospect of living alone. Consider: what is a king without a throne? What is a Ruffle without a larger animal to dominate? The answer is the same because the question is the same. His Regency the Rufflord requires subjects and subservience and you look like just the right person to bend to his every whim. Ruffles was born April, 2025.

If you live in Chicago and are interested in learning more about Ruffles, please contact Toni McNaughton at tonimcn@rcn.com and Lisa Ward at catladychicago@yahoo.com. Please tell us a bit about your situation, what you are looking for, the composition of your current household (the other humans and/or pets who already live there).
