Ruby's Story

Meet Ruby! She is a 12 year old sweet and sensitive potentially Himalayan or Ragdoll mix.

Ruby has been adjusting well to her foster home but was understandably shaken up after losing her home of 12 years. Sh3 finda comfort in his foster dad and greets him at the door with a sweet meow. She loves affection but will get spooked if people come on too strong. She takes a few days to get comfortable but will then seek pets and affection. She takes time to snuggle on the couch or in bed when she wants but also loves her alone time in a quiet warm spot.

She needs a quiet and patient home to let her feel safe and get love on her own terms.

She will be happiest in a home with no cats, dogs, or kids. She could potentially live with another older independent cat but we think she needs to be able to protect her peace from overwhelming housemates.

Ruby is currently on a prescription diet for urinary needs. She is prone to crystals and UTIs and benefits grately from a calm environment, urinary supplements, and ample hydration. She had a cystotomy to remove stones before her surrender to the shelter and has been recovering well. She will need to have regular senior wellness visits (bloodwork and urinalysis recommended) and monitoring to make sure her urinary health continues to improve.

Vaccinated for FVRCP and Rabies. Neuetered and microchipped and FeLV / FIV negative.

To apply for Ruby, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable cat, or final size of any of our adoptable kittens. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the cat into our rescue.

Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org

STEP 1: Download and complete an adoption application (www.waggytailrescue.org) and email to adopt@waggytailrescur.org. Applications will be reviewed by us and if approved we will put you in contact with the animal's foster who will answer any questions you may have and check your references. This is the time to determine whether a dog's personality is a match for your whole family and other animals, and to see if you have allergies. Please don't wait until after adopting to really touch and handle a dog, skip the antihistamines and get those allergens all over you now! STEP 3: You love the dog! To finalize an adoption, fill out and sign the TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP AGREEMENT (www.waggytailrescue.org) and use Paypal, Venmo or a check for the Adoption Fee (see details below). Please put the name of the dog in the memo section! Electronic payment is preferred, but you may also pay by check (payable to Waggytail Rescue). We use Petstablished to manage our adoption records. After an adoption is finalized, you will be sent login information that gives you access to your new dog's profile and medical records!
