Roxie and Meiran's Story

Roxie and Meiran were born into a colony of cats in Costa Mesa. Destined for a hard road at birth, they faced many challenges. Two feeders there, our foster Megan and her friend Lynne, were told by a cat-hating neighbor that if the litter was not gone the kittens would “disappear.” Only two days later, three of the five were gone. Lynne and Megan worked quickly to trap Roxie first, and several days later, Meiran.

Both were skittish after four months on the street, but they were not feral—and they’ve proven they can turn around with time and patience. Roxie has taken longer to trust, but once she does, she’s a total mush for love and attention. She’s playful, curious, and completely food-driven—offer her a treat, and she’ll be your best friend.

Meiran’s story is more heartbreaking. Once trapped, Megan knew something was seriously wrong. She rushed him to the emergency vet, where it was discovered Meiran had blunt force trauma that caused a diaphragmatic hernia—his stomach organs had pushed through his diaphragm into his lung area. We know this was not the result of a car accident. Meiran underwent emergency surgery and made a full and complete recovery. Today, he plays like any other kitten, and he's also more of a lover—he will happily curl up next to you on the bed or the couch, purring away as your snuggle buddy.

Roxie and Meiran have endured more than most kittens should, but through it all, they have stayed bonded. They play together, sleep together, and comfort each other. Separating them feels like it would only add more sadness to their story, so we believe they will truly thrive in a home where they can be adopted as a pair.

If you are interested in giving these two reformed colony kittens the forever home they deserve, please fill out an application. They are sure to bring double the cuddles, laughter, and love to your home.

All Catmosphere Laguna kitties are fully vetted.
