Rose's Story
Hi, I’m Rose — and I think it’s finally my turn.

For a long time, I didn’t know what safety felt like. I was just a small black shadow on the streets, with a belly full of kittens and no one looking out for me.

Every day was about surviving — not thriving. But I fought. I stayed strong. Because I had little lives depending on me.

My babies? They all found homes. Every single one of them. I was so happy for them — but once they were gone, it was just… me again. Alone. Until someone finally saw me for who I am, beyond the scruffy fur and tired eyes.

They brought me to safety, and now I’m learning what it means to be cared for. Really cared for. At first, I was scared. I had to be tough for so long — you don’t just let your guard down overnight. But give me a little time and some gentle love, and oh… you’ll see the real me.

I’m a flirty little thing once I feel safe. I’ll roll over and show you my belly (yes, it’s a trap, but a cute one). I’ll bat my lashes and stretch like I’m on a runway. I’m petite, but my heart? It’s enormous. I want to love you. I just need you to be patient while I remember how.

I’m about 2 years old now, and I think I’ve earned the right to be somebody’s princess. I’ve been a warrior long enough. I want a sunny window, a warm lap, a soft voice calling my name. I want to be spoiled, cherished, adored.

Will you be the one who sees the beauty behind the story? The one who gives me the forever I’ve never had?

I’m Rose. I’ve bloomed through the cracks. Now I just need a garden to grow in

If interested please go to our web site and fill out an adoption application at: thepetrefuge.org and print and fill it out and email back to ShelterManager@thepetrefuge.org..
