Rooney - CHOW HOUND - ADOPTION PENDING!'s Story
Rooney was skinny, starving, and very cold when he arrived at a homeowner's back door wanting inside. They couldn't keep him but let him in to get warm and eat. They had him checked for a microchip, posted for an owner, checked with neighbors, but when no one claimed him he made his way to us! He is a beautiful swirl tabby who had been front paw declawed - so he especially should not have been outside!

His foster mom tells us Rooney is a silly and sweet cat. He hides under his bed and blankets and pops his head up to peak out. As soon as you give him attention he comes out and enjoys the love. He was certainly loved by someone at one time because he doesn't hiss, lash out or try to bite and he doesn't seem to mind being held either! He's going to make a wonderful pet. He's still pretty boney on his back but we think it'll get better with consistent food available.

Rooney is now being lovingly cared for by the staff of the Burton Chow Hound, 2490 Burton St SE in Grand Rapids where you can meet him from 9am to 9pm daily!

Rooney is currently 7 lbs but is gaining weight, is neutered, had his vaccinations, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and is now microchipped. His adoption fee is $95.

If you are interested in Rooney or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, please go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in at our adoption center during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.

Thank you!
