Ron's Story
The first we knew Ron needed our help was when he jumped up and 'tapped' the den window, where he could see a light shining through, meowing loudly several times. It was just after the first big snows, and -15C outside.
We found him on our porch, very cold and very hungry, but still wary of coming too close; we were strangers after all.
After some coaxing, we managed to pick him up (with thick gloves on of course!) and carry him into our mud-room where we immediately saw the change in him as he felt the warmth of the house around him - and quickly ate and drank everything we gave him.
Ron is a sweetheart: extremely affectionate, never failing to purr when he is picked up, and very vocal too. He loves a good cuddle, but isn't too fond of his belly being rubbed.
He is in great health - great teeth, lovely coat - and is house trained with his business done in the litter tray. His claws rarely come out, even to climb up onto shoulders after a cuddle. He wants to nibble on hands occasionally but responds well to instructions not to.
He eats a lot, and drinks a lot - and wants to get into any food he sees, whether on a table or wrapped in a plastic bag - even tea and coffee are fair game - however this may be because he was outdoors, with no one feeding him, for a while. We've very slowly seen him accept that not all food and drink is for him to feed on.
Ron will make a loving pet for someone who can spend a little time helping him to settle into a routine where food comes regularly, and he is loved back.
