Romeo & Mochi's Story
Although Romeo (DSH White/Orange) and Mochi (DSH Black) have two very different personalities they share a very special bond and are looking for a loving forever home together. Romeo is the affectionate one—once he’s settled in, he loves nothing more than cuddling up for some quality time with his humans. Mochi, on the other hand, is still a bit cautious when it comes to human interaction. He’s more reserved and will only accept pets during mealtime or in his safe space, but with patience and understanding, he’ll continue to grow more comfortable. They both have a special fondness for their foster’s Catio, where they can enjoy the outdoors safely, and they never get tired of watching “cat TV” from the backdoors—birdwatching, squirrel spotting, you name it! Romeo and Mochi require a dedicated and patient adopter willing to continue their socialization and are best suited to an adult-only home with a calm and quiet environment.

*Medical considerations: we suspect Romeo has IBD and we are using dietary management to treat it. He is currently on/responding well to a speciality diet: Hills Prescription Diet I/D (Digestive Care) wet and dry food.

The Avery Foundation is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. Every TAF rescue cat is vet checked, vaccinated, treated for parasites, spay/neutered, microchipped and receive any necessary additional medical care.

Our adoption process involves an application, reference check, interview, and home visit prior to placement. From the time we receive your application through the screening process adoptions can take a couple weeks. We thank everyone who takes the time to apply but only those who best fit the cat’s requirements will be contacted.

If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at: https://www.theaveryfoundation.ca/adoption/adoption-application/cats/
